I'm looking for a science fiction book about a plague on earth caused by biological war. The plague kills anyone who has reached puberty. One of the heroes is a man who, do to a glandular abnormality, is immune to the plague. Another important character is a woman who is abducted and taken to Nevada, then an outlaw territory. Later in the story, two colony ships go to another solar system. When the two spaceships approach a new solar system, one is destroyed in a collision with an asteroid. Is any of this familiar to anyone? Thanks.
