With apologies for its being a little late (I've been out gallivanting most of the day!) February's 75 Worder is up, courtesy of Christine Wheelwright on behalf of last month's winner, Bren G!

Theme: EDEN

Genre: fantasy

Good luck, everyone!

@Victoria Silverwolf .... Second Chance .... This is a story that I expected I knew, but I certainly did not. Well played Victoria, well played indeed.

@parkydoc .... The Song of Eden .... This is a story of evil intentions and how they can be dealt with positively.

@THX1138 .... The Fable of Eden .... This is a story which makes me think that humans and Eden are not going to mix well at all.

@Ian Fortytwo .... Whispers of Forbidden Knowledge .... This is a story which is an insightful addition to the Biblical story.

@Provincial .... The Garden of Lost Innocence .... This is an important fantasy story that runs too close to literal truth and our human response to make comfortable reading.

So, what kind of stories would we have about Eden if the genre was Comedy?

'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Eden.'
'Adam and Eve and the Banana Peel, A Comedy of Errors!'
'An Apple A Day Keeps Eden Away.'
'What's Eden Adam's Apple?'

No?
Okay... how about:

Eveline.
or:
Evelines....

Gomez: Adams! We are leaving!
Mortisha: She is so delectable; I could just eat her up.
Fester: I say we blow her up, it's the only way to be sure!
Lurch: Ohhhhhh......

Still, no? Fine!....

On the night of 1st February I had this dream. Here's the gist of it as noted down on waking:

I'm in a classroom reminiscent of primary school. @Brian G Turner of Chrons is the teacher and he's encouraging me to read out my 75 word story. My difficulty is that I've abandoned my written script and am trying to make sense of a series of images but have forgotten what they mean, and am getting increasingly confused. However, he continues to gently encourage me.

I think this is a rather nice comment from my inner world on the supportive nature of Chrons. Many thanks Brian, moderators and everyone else.

@paranoid marvin .... Making A Meal Of It .... This is a story that could form the central myth in a vegetarian creation story.

@Guttersnipe .... Adam & Eve: A Romantic Tragicomedy .... This is a story that made me shake my head and chuckle at the weirdness.

@Daysman .... Lost in the Grass .... This is a story that reminds us that a rock is never enough to squash evil.

@Cat's Cradle .... After the Leathery Ones Left .... This is a story where wild intelligence beats the emotional response.

@Hugh .... Crossed Wires in the Ethers .... This story is the Saturday Night Live sketch of Eden.

@Elckerlyc .... The Way to Eden .... This is a story with a very clever twist which I liked a lot.

*When I read the title I had a Dion Warwick moment: "Do you know the way to San Jose?" so now I'm stuck with an earworm.

@Christine Wheelwright .... The Bailiff .... This is a story which was not what I expected from beginning to end. That's not a bad thing.

*Bailiff is a position with a fairly different meaning in US English, than in British English.
