Northeast England/North North Yorkshire they are 'Scraps' - (and the best fish and chips can be found in Whitby)

I've got a 'spell' in my finger

South west here and I call them scraps and my husband (from Essex) also calls them scraps. Also, we own a fish & chip shop, so obviously the best fish and chips can be found in Devon.
