It has been a while since we last saw Mad Max hit the road, but plans are in motion that could see the fourth film in the series start production as early as next year.
In the frame to take on the title roles are Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy, although there has been no firm confirmation yet, only that negotiations are ongoing.
The rights of the film have been with the producers since 1997, but real life events have meant that an apocalyptic view of the world may not be the best subject to follow, but times have changed and the world moves on.
It seems that the production is gearing up in Australia, where the new film will carry on shortly after the end of Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome.
