The Alligator People 1959 A scientist etreating man for reptile like skin condition with radiation accidentally doses him with too much radiation causing him o morph into humanoid Alligator, The makeup like the film is very unimpressive . The one thing of interest in this film is that Lon Chaney Jr is in it playing a crazy man with a hook for an arm a fanatical desire to kill the Alligator man.:D
Did the alligator man wear a watch with a loud tick?

If only Peter Pan and the gang had shown up. This film would instantly become one of the greatest movie send ups all time.:D

Aline caches? I had to Google the film to get the gist but I’m struggling to see how autocorrect got from (probably) ‘alien robot’ to this!

I actually think it's quite nice that films like this are still being made.

I will look out for it.

A wet, but photogenic, bit of Scotland.
I've just seen a trailer for something called "Space Wars: the Quest for the Deepstar" that really fits the B movie trope.

I want to see it, as it actually looks like it could be fun.

Was that Michael Paré? Nice to see he's still working.

EDIT: Yep - one or 20+ films he appeared in made last year (and 32 in the pipeline). Busy man.

I tried watching Battle Star Wars [2020]
I didn't have high hopes of the Mockbuster but I could only last four or five minutes.
Even for a film from The Asylum, this was a dire effort.
Maybe it got better 6 minutes in. But I wasn't going to wait that long to find out.

You lasted longer than I did.

Jack the Giant Killer 1962 is a pretty good movie --as a Seventh Voyage rip off--what hurts it badly is the godawful model designs.
Isn't it amazing though-technology has reached a point where one could easily alter a film--do pretty much anything now. You can even swap actors from a movie. It was impossible 20 years ago but now you can. The trouble is there are so many choices you can make--it almost becomes pointless to do anything because you can alter it so far beyond the original restraints.

I am just fooling around here on a modest level (ten minutes of work) but one could do so much to change a film fx now.
It would be challenging and fun to restrict changes to what was technologically feasible in the era without making it obviously CGI.

I've gotten on a streak of looking up old sci fi movies starting in the 50's and moving on from there. Last night, I watch Moon Zero Two from 1969. Late enough to know about Apollo 11.

IMDB has it rated at 4.5, but I thought it was better than that. Not great, mind you, but not all that bad. And I was surprised to see it was a Hammer production.

I love Moon Zero Two! It's a real chunk of 50s pulp SF made flesh. Some pretty groovy music too.
