DISCUSSION THREAD -- MARCH 2022 -- 75 Word Writing Challenge

Blimey, I wasn't expecting that result. Such a widespread of votes, I don't think I had any at the start of the day.

Cheers for the votes @Bowler1 @Ashleyne @Peter V and @M. Robert Gibson plus the mentions folks.

I've never believed that orcs or goblins et al can march, they just don't have that ability in their bodies. They are the epitome of a true horde or a swarm. For those that have pet peeves with LotR films mine were the orcs marching out of Minas Morgul.

So, in my opinion, it would be a thankless task for anyone trying to teach them. The colour blind part comes from the general idea that most goblinoid races are of greenish hued skins, either light or dark. As such, the most common form of colour blindness is red green.

Why the Dark Lord never thought of telling them to step with their sticky foot I don't know :)

Congrats @Luiglin ! As mentioned it was a close run thing with a wide spread of votes, a notable victory indeed. Also, with the colour confusion, the distinction between orc and ork is important here, because if I'm not mistaken, for orks, the red ones always go faster, no?

Thanks are in order for mentions from @sule , @StilLearning , and @M. Robert Gibson , as well as a vote (!) from @BT Jones .

And while my vote ultimately went to @Cat's Cradle and I'm not generally one to post a shortlist, I was very nearly seduced by the deliciously macabre tale posted by @Ashleyne

Congrats, Luiglin!

And to my earlier 'thank yous' I'll add huge thanks to farntfar, Daysman, and The Judge for the listings.

Congratulations @Luiglin , well done :)

Thanks for the mentions @johnnyjet and @Hugh , as well as for the votes @sule and @DF17 - and for all the stories. One of the big benefits of being on the chrons is that there're monthly flash fiction anthologies to enjoy!

Correct. I will take the credit for getting the ball rolling and 3% of your glory by association

Congratulations @ Luiglin

Thanks to those who mentioned my entry and a big thank you to @ Iwroteathing for the much appreciated vote.

Congratulations, Luiglin! I'm looking forward to hearing the Dark Lord on next month's Chronscast!
This, and my February 75 post has come back to haunt me.
I want to win one with puns so awful that @Phyrebrat will refuse to read it. Either that or come up with a character name along the lines of Gzackakcxytowilfyllllnodifek... and that would just be the nickname.
At least I didn't use Gzackakcxytowilfyllllnodifek in this entry. If I didn't know better I may have thought @Phyrebrat had some nefarious involvement in the win :ROFLMAO: :p

Yay - I picked a winner.

Luigin mate, are your Orcs any good with pitchforks?
If they are, I could use them.
It depends how you envisage the pitchforks being used? If it is as part of a mob hunting down some noble vampire, electrically challenged monster or hairy beast with lunar issues, then they'd probably accept. If it's more along the lines of gathering hay then possibly not, unless the hay hid escaped miscreants they could poke.
