November / December 100 Word Anonymous Challenge Discussion

Thank you for posting this. I usually cross post a message, but you beat me to it.
This does bring up a good point. With the multiple submissions, should we consider increasing the votes to 2 per person? Or three, as in the 300 Word Challenge?
Thoughts?
I was thinking it might be a good idea to allow multiple votes, 2 or 3.

I voted for “Problems at the mechanical men corporation“. It is definitely an alternative future, there are lots of hauntology movies on the same theme , and it makes me laugh every time I read it.

Runners up were:
Battleship
Go on, guess!
So Close

Now for my guesses: I opted for the ‘spiritual’ nearness explanation and dug out the ouija board to identify the authors.

Daysman is the red herring.

I am hoping to get them all wrong, but more than that I am hoping to have listed each author and story only once. That would be a real achievement! :giggle:
Only one correct guess. Even your red herring is off (I could smell it from here  )

Really enjoyed all the entries this month.

Actually, I prefer the 100 word anon to the 75, but I've little hope of spotting contributors — can't even say for sure what I wrote myself...

My fave five 'worlds of tomorrow' (including vote):
  • The Border
  • Battleship
  • Years of hurt
  • Problems at The Mechanical Men Corporation *
  • So Close
Thanks @Victoria Silverwolf as always for all your reviews!

Have a great what-remains-of-Sunday!

CORRECTION!
Trying to keep tabs on who has correct guesses and overlaps is hard. I need my own spreadsheet!
@BT Jones was first to guess. There was 2 correct on that list.
@Provincial was next. There was one correct on that list, not the same as BT Jones' correct two.
@M. Robert Gibson guessed 23 authors. 3 were correct, two of which are shared with BT Jones (sorry for the confusion). There is also a big clue hidden in his list.
@mosaix has 3 correct. Only one of those is shared by another list (M. Robert Gibson's)

My vote when to 'The Border'. I liked the surprise ending and as a Canuck myself, it's nice to see Mounties riding in to save the day! To few sci-fi stories ever feature them :)

Been intriguing to see who people thought wrote which story, and how wrong they've been thus far. I wish I had the time this week to attempt a guess but I am sure I'd be just as wide off the mark.

Wow, @elvet, that was like one of those logical maths questions my son gets at school: Jane has 2 bananas but shares one with Luke, who gives her an apple in return, but Bob...

Shortlisted in no particular order:
Revenge
A Familiar Tune
His Father’s Castle
Problems of the Mechanical Men Corporation

And my vote:
The Ritual

And the winner is... MOSAIX - Problems at the Mechanical Men Corporation
CONGRATS!
Here are some more clues to help out the guessers:
Submitted 3 stories: Daysman, Wayne Mack, Mosaix
Submitted 2 stories: Capricorn42, BT Jones, M Robert Gibson, Chrispenycate
Submitted 25 excellent stories by other members: elvet
