Been a while since this saw daylight.

I'll try a question seeing as Nesacat didn't:-

Where did an error (couldn't say whether it was the author's or the publisher's) turn a black-hearted villain into a god for a little while?

And as far as I know it still hasn't been corrected in recent editions. That would appear to point to it being an author error.

    All yours, devilsgrin.

In the 5 books of the Belgariad we meet, in person, several of the gods. Aside from their non-speaking "appearance" after the fall of torak, name the three Gods we don't.

    Hmm. Nedra, Issa and Chaldan?

Issa speaks, but through a statue which also moves.

thems the ones... your It Ace.

I always felt rather like Eddings held out on us with Belar. Once we meet him in Belgarath... he's actually cool... he also sounds like he'd be fun (and i mean that in every sense of the word ;) )

Either Ace doesn't get the idea of this thread, or he's thinking up an absolute doozy.

I'll post a reply, but I'll wait till the next question before I jump in on the competition.

Pretty sure we did meet Belar in Belgarath the Sorcerer, so I guess that kinda makes up for it. Also there are five different names mentioned for Brands four sons. I'm Guessing that was a simple mistake that he forgot the name of one of them and created a new one. Whoops.
