I always felt rather like Eddings held out on us with Belar. Once we meet him in Belgarath... he's actually cool... he also sounds like he'd be fun (and i mean that in every sense of the word )

Pretty sure we did meet Belar in Belgarath the Sorcerer, so I guess that kinda makes up for it. Also there are five different names mentioned for Brands four sons. I'm Guessing that was a simple mistake that he forgot the name of one of them and created a new one. Whoops.
