Come on, get out all you time-wasting bastards! Ba
I was pretty surprised there was no thread for it.

It's pretty popular and although not strictly sci-fi, it's no less dubious than say Buffy or Dark Angel.

I'll admit its 80% eyecandy, but I ain't complainin'!:D

So do you watch it? Yes? No? Why?

there was a thread about it a while ago, no forum thing tho.
i don't like it. i found it boring and overrated. it wasn't scarey, it wasn't interesting, and it kinda lost the whole point for me fairly quickly when they found their 'missing' father in the first series. but by then i was so bored that i stopped watching and didn't care that much

think only one episode interested me, can't remember much about it now except it had that evil girl in a painting or something.

also, i don't find them attractive! :)

I like Supernatural, its great, I really enjoyed the first series, I know some of the stories weren't that original but I liked the idea of it.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of series 2.

And I think Dean is a total fox! :)

I love this show. I think it offers a good portrayal of what the lives of hunters would really be like. Always on the run, dodging the law, never knowing who to trust.

And these are working-class guys, too. Not stuffy librarian types who belong to some secret order, and are packing lots of mystical artifacts. Just a couple of regular guys living by their wits, and sticking it to the otherworldly scum that threaten us all.

I used to catch clips of it now and then. I couldn't get into it though. Eyecandy perhaps, but nothing else really appealed to me. The only episode I can say I've seen from beginning to end was "Bloody Mary" which was good. Overall though, on top of not being able to get into the stories, it was in a bad timeslot for me personally.

WHAT THE ... ?!

Okay. I could understand boring, or if you said it was formulaic, repetitive and simplistic (all true) or if you said it had plot holes you could drive their funky Impala through, but NOT ATTRACTIVE??!!

I'm flabbergasted!

No wonder you don't watch it. Their attractiveness is probably the saving grace of the show...:p

Although I do love the sense of humour ... and the soundtrack.

Those are good points too. And not as fatuous as my shallow observations...

Apart from a very few exceptions due to extreme boredom, I haven't watched TV for *thinks hard* 6 years or so. I don't have anything against TV and it's not due to some prinicple; I just can't be bothered to watch it much in the same way that I can't be bothered watching paint dry.

I'd much rather watch a movie and most good TV-series can be bought on DVD so I can watch them when it suits me, not when it suits whoever plans the programs on a given channel.

I didn't realise until now that it had been 6 years, but it has.

First, I love that quote! But let's face it, if these two hotties were librarians, at least they wouldn't spend every episode saying "Every culture has a (insert Wendigo, Woman in White, Shapeshifter etc) legend" Cos that just ain't so.

And I swear to god! In the ep 'Hell House' Sam says 'ly-berry' instead of 'library'. So that would make them 'liberrians' instead of 'librarians'.

Finally, those two are sexy lads and make Supernatural worth watching even with the sound down.

Good for you! :) I think a lot of people are getting that way. I like to watch a few episodes of something before I consider purchasing it. TV executives are treating the viewers like morons these days - and it shows! They need to realise that with DVDs, PayTV and bit torrent downloads we are no longer a "captive audience".

Come now, ladygiggs! Surely every culture has a scary killer clown...? And a ceiling-hovering-mother-immolating demon? :D

I like Supernatural, but don't watch it often because I can never seem to find it on.

I can't see purchasing tv shows on dvd--except for very favorite cult shows, I'm only interested in watching movies over again. And not too many of those, either.

It's not something I do a lot, though I have recently bought Firefly and my boyfriend has all 7 seasons of Buffy (Yeah, we like Joss Whedon, okay? :D ) plus he has some seasons of 24.

He also gave me a boxset of Planet Earth for Christmas (I gave him a boxset of Monthy Python's Personal Best) and I'm considering buyng at least one boxset with The Mythbusters. Okay, so that's neither fantasy or Sci-Fi, but talking about different tv show based boxsets I find worth buying.

So, most people have seen some shows that I've never head of (Like Supernatural, just to return to the original topic ;) ), but I'd rather have a few that I really like and, most importantly, can watch when it suits me.

what's Planet Earth? Is it a nature thing? I have Blue Planet on dvd, but I tend to like atmospheric background video. If you like that sort of thing the Waves series is the bomb. Hawiian Waves, California Coast --etc. Nothing but all nature all the time.

Planet Earth is a nature documentary made by the same people who made Blue Planet. I really like nature documentaries and have done so as far back as I remember. The filming on this one is absolutely amazing; the animals and the incredible surroundings never fail to cheer me right up, even after a very stressfull day. Come to think of it, I will probablyt watch some when I come get later today.

I've never heard of the Waves series, but I'll look into it.

yeah, i don't think either of them are anything special. one looks too short and the other is just boring. i like wentworth miller, from prison break :) i think he's one of my fav tv actors to look at at the moment. and the guy who plays lj in the same show :)

I found it mildly interesting to start with, but like faery queen I don't find them attractive. I got bored and now find it comparable to Torchwood.

Edit: Planet Earth is in no way comparable to Torchwood. I love Planet Earth.

Not any more, got too dull, and earnest, and not enough rock and roll. Spousal unit couldn't stand it, either.

Yeah, you can never have too much rock n roll.
And I know what you mean about "too dull and earnest" but they always had a tendency to get all emotional. For guys who refuse to discuss their feelings (well Dean anyway) they sure spend a lot of time discussing their feelings!:D

Less boohooing, more lock n load. Thats what I say. Oh and less shirts can't hurt.

Well....I'm faint-hearted. That explains a lot doesn't it? Though I have watched one or two episodes of it, the one with the clown... and the other where one of the brother's girlfriend died. Its enjoyable, but not really my taste.
