I got my first book up on Amazon and Smashwords. And a sale the first day! Whoo hoo!
This is book 1 of 6 so expect many posts from me about it over the next 5 years!
Maybe I'll get better at writing in the meantime!
sale links at my website, along with organization profiles and my other work.

However, I love your opening - there's real strength in your prose, and a sense of a punchier but darker Harry Dresden in there. I've added it to my wish-list and will likely buy it with my Kindle vouchers at Christmas. :)

The funny thing is that I hadn't heard of Jim Butcher when I wrote Demonyka and only tried one of his Dresden books later (the Biskitetta likes them) and found I didn't get on with them. His Codex Alera, on the other hand, kept me hooked all through the series.

Morning all.

As some of my novels are now going to be published by *proper* publishers alongside the shorts I've had published I've just released, for myself, a collection of short tales called Tales of Wild Light as a thank you to all those who've supported me, critiqued me, encouraged me and rejected me over the years - because each of those has made me go away and get better.

If you go here you can get a copy for free

the paid for version'll be on Amazon tomorrow I think

Cheers

Stewart

Are you going to have a sample for this.
I have not been here for a while, but have been working on several fantasy novels, one of which "The Plain Girl's Earrings" is about to go live on Amazon Kindle on 28 April 2017 and is currently in pre-order.
See The Plain Girl's Earrings eBook: Kim J Cowie: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store
Kim J Cowie is a pseudonym.

I don't generally buy without first reading a sample of the authors work--even my favorites have to have a sample because sometimes their styles change.

Hi,

And Cosmic Geoff is your real name?!

I also like the cover, but while striking it doesn't tell me anything about the book. I don't even know what genre it is. My feel from the cover is that its maybe noir detective thanks to the image of the smoke - cigarettes in an ashtray etc, but the clock colours suggest something a little more fantasy. And a book cover has to not just attract the eye but also tell your readers what it's about. Maybe a tag line might help.

Congrats by the way.

Cheers, Greg.

Where in Grass Valley do you live? I am a fellow SFF-er next door in Nevada City. I should have my first, Thumar, out in two months with a release party. It would be nice to meet a fellow chroner, if you're up to it.

Hi, Tim. It's good to know there are other SFF writers here in the foothills.

I'm located on Bear Hollow Road off of Perimeter Road in the southwestern corner of the county. A Google map search will pinpoint the address and location, and the local phone book will give you the phone number. I hesitate to give the number in such an open venue.

Give me a call.

Got the general local off of lime kiln, I work at sears off of Idaho Maryland rd. I'm in the shop sunday, Monday and Tuesday. That is a good neutral location to meet.

I wrote a tie-in novel to my series The Darfur 3 Saga, in the form of a choose your own path (partial CYOA).
I had two covers made, since I liked both ideas.
Tell me which cover do you think is best!

After almost six years of toiling away, the day has arrived. Thumar is up and hot on Amazon as a hard copy and e-book, and on Smash Words as an e-book.

Well I've taken the plunge, after about five years or so of dawdling... my grandmother always said I belonged to the slow troop, whatever she meant by that...

I have self-published my short story Agents of Repair on Kindle.

The link to Amazon Uk Kindle - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074F2VRC5/?tag=brite-21

The introduction to the story says it all -

Agents of Repair was written to answer the question: ‘Can a self-learning program develop on a computer without direct human help?’ When I realised how it could be done, I knew it would be dangerous to publish the method. So I deliberately left out a couple of paragraphs in this story.

Nevertheless it made for good yarn, and found a home in a small British magazine, Jupiter. I am grateful to Ian Redman, Jupiter’s editor, for giving it chance to be read in Issue 29, Thyone, July 2010. This gave me a glimmer of hope after a particularly horrendous year on a personal front.

So why self-publish Agents of Repair as a separate story now? The first reason is to act as a record of one step in the path to the genesis of C.A.T., a self-learning robo-cat, of which a series of stories have been e-published by TWB Press. The second is its timelessness. It still feels as fresh and relevant today as when it was first published seven years ago. Enjoy!
