hi, im fairly new to the site, i sat down this evening to watch Lord of the rings, the two towers. i thought that ide get bored and only watch if for about 30, but i ended up watching the whole thing. when i see all of the fighting going on i just have the urge to pick up a long sword and hack the hell out of the next thing i see, does it have any similar effects on anyone else, or any different effects?

Maybe you should get training or summat?:D

I must say, the Two Towers film did persuade me to dust of my bow and arrows and get practising again. Though without much success, I must admit:eek:

I can just see the English papers now.

'Mass killings as Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli let loose....The Jedi Order to decide what to do'

yeah, maybe i should go into trianing, so if you see a mad 16 yearold running around london with a long sword above his head, dont be worried :D

I am glad I dont live in England.

Me too.

LOTR make me also want to go out and start my own little 'save the world and everyone in it' group. With me in the back, not leading, just giving "air" support.

One of the funniest things in the Two Towers movie wad the battle of Helm's Deep. I explain: the shower... When you must fight under such a condition, forget the bows. The strings anf the feathers of the arrows get dump and that influences ballistics and penetrating ability of the arrows badly. No sharpshooting, no casualties under such a rain. The archers would have been simply unable to shoot.

Depends upon what you mean by being picky. Me, when I watch the movie, I like everything to correspond prescribed reality of the theme 'cos I hate being cheated in my best feelings. If that's what you call "picky", I am the one.

Who says that bows in Middle-earth aren't weatherproofed, eh? The Orc-Slayer 2000, an all purpose, all-weather bow, perfect for slaying that pesky Orc come rain, hail or snow! Order now and we'll include two dozen Tru-Flyte arrows, guaranteed never to miss.*

*guarantee void in Rohan.

The only thing LOTR inspires me to do is re-read the series. Watch the films again, and write my novels like mad!

If anyone'll teach me how to use a damned sword, I'll help with the whole 'save the world,' 'fight a battle' thing. I think it'd be great fun. Not to mention, loads of stress relief.

The only effect i had was i felt like watching all 3 in one go which is impossable
