Good to see Will's connection with the Upside Down made - this is the sort of thing other programs/movies would have dragged out, so it's satisfying the way this series doesn't do that in general.
The morning after with Jonathan and Nancy was fun, especially the comment "How was the pull out?" made me laugh out loud.
Good to see Max finally doing something with the boys - her step-brother is such an extreme a-hole that his only purpose in this series seems to be to push Max to the boys, and then get eaten by a shadow monster. Dustin has a very interesting way with words sometimes.
Also very welcome that the new boss of Hawkins Energy put real value on Will's life, and challenged the scientist who didn;t.
Toward the end, through, when Will has the soldiers directed to a specific part of the tunnels - wasn't expecting a trap, or such an outright tribute to Aliens! And now the shadow monsters are rising up through the energy building? Definitely the cliffhanger!
