An ailing Will opens up to Joyce – with disturbing results. While Hopper digs for the truth, Eleven unearths a surprising discovery.
The situation between Hopper and El continues to be tense - on the one hand it's tempting to think the tension is forced with Hopper losing his temper considering his past, but then again for the period it would be considered normal for a man to get angry when he's frustrated. We also have the continuing investigation in the pumpkin patches rotting - it was great last episode when Hopper pushed the energy company to look into it.
That they figured out Will was doing a continuous drawing was clever, as was the realization it was roots, and Hopper's discovery at the end of the tunnels.
As ever, the episode was good, the tension and story moving forward well. However, it does seem a lot darker and moving toward full on horror now, while the first season was more focused on mystery. It's disturbing seeing Will suffering - something that was off-screen last season - as was the end scene with the create eating Dustin's cat in his bedroom. Have to admit I'm becoming a little uncomfortable with it, but will see it through.
