How does one of these (maybe not around just yet), equipped with actual legs, turn around. Like a human(trying to think how that actually works!) or some other gyration?

It's funny - people don't know how they walk, either. The part of our brains that do that aren't really conscious, and we learned as babies by trial and error. Current walking robots learn in a similar way, and we probably don't understand what they are "thinking" either.

Very true. What is instinct and how is it formed or learned? It's like pouring a glass of water. I just do it. But when you work the math and mechanics of is, Thats a different thing. Self-learning, net access AI based on a core programming maybe? Thats what it looks like in simple terms.
