I have really enjoyed the first three books of this series, but have found it hard to commit to starting book four. When I noticed the reading time for Rhythm of War
was twenty sevens hours plus, it put me off. I wasn't sure I would have the time to manage it.
But, Audible, is on special offer at Amazon for four months and I have treated myself to it.
So now I can listen to the story while doing other things. Is it cheating to listen instead of reading?

It's not cheating to listen to an audiobook rather than read the words, and even if it was, who cares if it helps you? The book police won't be around to ask you questions about this or anything.
Yep, my eyes are not great now and almost all my 'reading' is done via audiobooks - always unbridged ones. It's a little limiting as most books less than a few years old haven't been recorded yet. But there is plenty out there - far more than I can keep pace with. ;)

No. Listening is not cheating. Actually it be quite encouraging.
Sorry, it's cheating but you won't get arrested or anything. I hear the latest installment of this series has some deficits. I have the first three in hardback untouched as of yet. I've read widely diverse opinions ranging from "mindblowing" to "farts in the wind" so I'm really not sure what to expect.

Ive looked at this series , ive read the commentary good and bad. Uncertain of whether to give this one a read.

If you're looking for good read might I suggest The Kagan the Damned Trilogy by Jonathan Maberry ?
1. Kagan the Damned
2. Son of the Poison Rose
3. Thee Dragon in Winter
