Minimum Population for Generation Ship

I might be that you could maintain a biologically stable population that size (I'm not qualified to judge) however I'm not sure you could maintain a psychologically stable population that size over the period that article is talking about - 6300 years. I would think that what you'd end up with after so many generations would be a mentally pretty messed group of humans.
