Sadly missed part of childhood in the UK.
Presenter on PlaySchool and Playaway.
I didn't know until today he was also in Doctor Who in the 1960's

My childhood was spent watching Play School, Trumpton, Camberwick Green and Chigley - all of them starring Cant.

He had a very distinctive and reassuring voice, and a lovely sense of humour on-screen and with his voice-overs.

He is probably looking through the Arched Window now!
