Jaguar swimming and feeding underwater

Wow, and grabbing a bite to eat while submerged. I can't imagine trying to chomp something with all that water getting in.

I don't think it's eating underwater, is it? I thought that's why it goes back to the outcrop** where it drops the food and then eats -- though you'd think plenty of water would get in just by grabbing the food in its mouth!

** the lower bits of which look horribly like an octopus's tentacles to me, and I kept fearing they'd grab the poor jaguar as it returned!

I thought it looked like eating at the 20 second mark... perhaps its just popping food in a safe place to eat outside.

In the Pantanal Jaguar equivalent of the Big Mac is the Terrapin, also lots of predator interaction and niche competition with the Caiman, these cats love the water!
