JG Ballard's Drowned World in a Chelmsford swimming pool

This is something I'd like to see come to the Edinburgh festival.

Imaginitive settings can really breathe new life into a work. I once saw Hamlet in a japanese setting with Kendo instead of swordfights and I also once saw Titus Andronicus performed naked in a set reminsicent of an abattoir. They had to stop that play half way through to mop up the fake blood for health and safety reasons.

Both were intriguing and entertaining (the naked Titus cast was not in any way titillating but the sight of blood on bare skin brought home the violent and visceral nature of the play).
