Strange Chemistry - Last year's open door

Has anyone heard back yet? Mine is nearly the six months since I sent it in.

Sent in October; nothing back yet.

Did hear a rumour that Angry Robot was hoping to have finished the read through of submissions for both open doors sometime in June/July. But that might slip. Then is you are lucky to get a request for a full it could be another wait.

The Angry Robot open door was different to the Strange Chemistry one. Strange Chemistry was May to October. They said around six months. I'm now slightly over the six months from when I sent it in.

I submitted in June, sent a followup at the end of the year and got confirmation they were still processing. Nothing further yet. Last people to say they got replies submitted in May, so it's still going on.

I had an email from Amanda this morning informing me that they can't take on the novel because Angry Robot have decided to close Strange Chemistry. a massive disappointment, and 8 months of waiting for nothing.

Same email here. In truth, I'd forgotten about it, so it's no biggie for me; but, commiserations, scaddy. And welcome to the Chrons.

I got the same email this morning. I'm a little saddened because it was Mayhem's last chance.
