This is an updated, modified version of a previous thread I started sometime last year and I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out.

I am looking for anti-heroes in contemporary science fiction - the more recent, the better. I am focusing on two gaps: 2005-2007 and 2008-2012.

Can anyone suggest anything that fits within these time slots?

I'm aware of Richard Morgan's Takeshi Kovacs trilogy (though this does pre-date 2005, with the exception of Woken Furies) and Black Man. Further, I have absolutely no interest in Iain M. Banks' work, nor Iain M. Banks before anyone suggests either.

Last thing - I'm looking at science fiction only, so no modern or dark fantasy and no science-fantasy. The more psychopathic, blood-thirsty, self-destructive, selfish, out-of-their-minds crazy, the better. Also, it would also help if there was something more transhuman about them: mutations, cyborg, augmented, genetically altered, what have you.
