What Game Are You Currently Playing?

oh, p.s. my dad is playing Starfield at the same time - he has an XBox, that he originally bought because he wanted to be a cowboy in Red Dead Redemption 2 - so we are comparing notes...(he has made many :LOL: )
 
Well that was interesting. I went back to Fallout 4 and I can indeed scrap tyres to get rubber. Not only that, I scrapped an entire ruined house and got a number of items out of it for crafting.

Can I build it?

No. I didn’t know there was one….but I do now.(y)

I thought I was doing well when I found a floor safe in one of the houses. Turns out, as they say, I’m still a noob…or is it newb…I can’t keep up
 
Got around to downloading Elder Scrolls Online since it's on the Xbox Game Pass. Played for a few hours, having a really great time so far. Made a Wood Elf Nightblade focusing on bows right now.
 
Today in Fallout 4, I found an entrance to a basement in Sanctuary where I found one gold bar. I wondered if there was more nearby but couldn’t find any. Thinking there might be a tunnel (just like in the castle with the artillery)I tried to scrap a brick wall within the basement. Failure. It seems that you can only scrap structures when you are within the vicinity of a crafting station (which I was not).

That’s another lesson learned:)

Fallout 4 rewards those that willing to go off the beaten path and explore ;) The world is dense with curios, stories in artefacts and interesting treasures.
 
The sheer detail in the Fallout games is fantastic. There's a random skeleton in a room in Fallout 3 that's been set up exactly like the painting of the death of Marat, for no reason at all. I love games where you can just wander around looking at interesting things (and stealing them).

It's a small thing, but I like the dyes in Baldur's Gate 3. I was able to complement the ninja-style mask and hood I gave Shadowheart with black and gold armour, and it's really rather good.
 
I am trying to play Enderal. It is Skyrim modification which became its own game. I heard that it has some dark fantasy vibes I like and that it doesn't have some Elder Scrolls elements I dislike (e.g. level scaling), so I am giving it a try.
 
Had a very cathartic victory just now in BG3. Had been chasing all over town, caught the someone I was after, and absolutely slaughtered him in the fight. Considering how difficult some battles have been, it was pleasant to just wipe the sucker out.
 
Foolishly, I loaded up No Man's Sky, thinking that I might have been a bit hard on it in the past. I wasn't. I find games like this incredibly irritating, where the adverts say "Fly across the galaxy! Design your own starship!" but the reality is trudging around a procedurally-generated landscape looking for 14 lumps of sodium to put into a machine in order to make refined sodium, which you need for...

Back to Fallout 3 instead, where there are jokes and atmosphere and you can kill a bandit by firing a garden gnome at them.
 
Really enjoying Starfield at the moment, barely scratched the surface of the universe - only been to a handful of systems. Thankfully my PC just about makes it run, albeit with a few stutters and loading screens. Not bad for an 8 year old computer.

Very Bethesda arc of missions...although, again, I've barely gone down any of the main factions. Not saying that's a bad thing - more like coming back to an old friend from Fallout or Skyrim. Yeah, I don't know if the arcs are going to be good or disappointing, but let's see when I get there. Much improved dialogue on Fallout 4, or at least, back to a more normal Fallout 3/Vegas/Skyrim. type dialogue with some deep trees.

Have figured out spacecraft combat - at least now at low level - make sure you have 'ship parts' in your cargo bay. Also look at the tech tree related to ships - plenty of nice stuff there to give you an edge.

Yet to do any spaceship/base-building or go really far up the tech-tree for doing manufacture and modifications - still at a low level and exploring the skill tree, although I quite like the use of targets to get higher levels of the various skills. So masses outside the missions to find out about and do.

Planets are a bit 'No Man's Sky' (i.e. if you pick a random spot to land, it's procedurally generated) albeit with a bunch of much better structures and dungeons on the ground to visit (at least compared to the last time I looked at NMS) Will have to see how much variation there is overall as I explore more and more. (Makes me think that there could be a massive scope for modders and extra content....so much space to put new stuff in.)

Of course trying to strip every location bare with useful stuff - thankfully have ship cargo space and human crew members to dump all the lovely loot and building material!
 
I've restarted Skyrim but with a whole load of immersion mods and added population. Now I approach a fort or a cave I would have just dealt with no problem, now I find I have to draw a bandit away on their own and deal with them individually otherwise I just get swamped.
 
I'm still wandering around in Fallout 4. Came across the Children of The Atom and found them really tough. Had to keep backing off to deal with radiation poisoning from their gamma guns (luckily I had plenty of Radaways) so I scarpered and then went back into the fray with my Fatman. It took half a dozen mini-nukes (my whole nest egg) and my best sniper rifle to deal with those mothers.

Later on I completed the USS Consitution quest and got a broadsider as my reward. Now I'm busy looking for bad guys to fire cannon balls at. Should be fun watching them go splat.
 
Unsure. I wasn’t wearing power armour at the time.

But, here is a passage from Fallout wiki:

If the Sole Survivor wears power armor among the Island sect, they will voice their disapproval of anti-radiation armor, but express interest in the fact that it is nuclear powered, or "runs on the Glow."


It would seem from the above that power armour might offer some protection.

Yeah much better than WOW now. Better than any other fantasy MMO thats out imo. Wish I had time to play more. Been at it five years and just getting to the endgame team player vs player. Insane fun.
