I really enjoyed the books that he cowrote with David Weber. However the books he has written by himself just don't seem to have the same intensity or flow to them. I hope he and Weber will come out with another book soon in the same universe as "Insurrection".

Those were very heavy on numerical description, though. It‘s always number X ships enter the wormhole, number Y intersect and explode coming out, number Z missiles are launched at them, they intercept number ... You get my drift ...

As this is also typical for space battles in the Honorverse, I can‘t help but think that this is a Weber thing, just like endless info dumps. On the other hand, I liked the books, too (either despite or because of my arachnophobia) and I did not really like White‘s solo works I read. So, where does that leave me?

Once a thread got baylored, it would be a pity to let it go to waste.

Back to the original topic, those books by White and Weber were based on games using their game Starfire.

At least I think that was the name of the game.
