Hello all.
Could I have some propositions on ur ideas of best military SF series or books pls?
I have read and enjoyed Heimlein , Hemry , Bujold, Weber, Ringo, Campbell etc.
Thnx a lot in advance for any recommendations ;-)

Hammer Slammer series by David Drake
Gaunts Ghosts series by Dan Abnett
Caiphis Cain series by Sandy Mitchell
Honor Harrington Seris by David Weber

Thnx Baylor. Have read a few from Hammer Slammer and couldn't say I am impressed. I have read all from Weber and loved them. Will check out Gaunts ghosts and Caiphis Cain.

Hey Juliana. After Butcher alike writers we meet again in mil SF and fantasy. Looks interesting that one. Gonna try it ;-) . Thnx once more.

Hm. I hadn't noticed this. That's pretty severe. If you replace '.co.uk' with '.com' and replace 'forum' with 'threads' and replace the '-words' after the number with a '/', then the url works - in other words, the thread id is the same - but that's a pretty significant pain. ;) Maybe post about it in the bugs and requests thread.

J-Sun, I didn't have the time mate to check it out so thoroughly so as to find the exact correct path. I just searched for the titles of the links u had posted and found them.
I will post it in the bugs and requests thread though.
Thnx once more.

Thnx Vince. I have read both of those series already mate ;-)
Actually I've read the first 3-4 from Seafort saga (after that it got boring) and all from Dietz ;-)

OK I've got you. I searched through all of the threads and didn't see this:

The General series
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_General_series

http://www.baenebooks.com/chapters/0743435877/0743435877.htm?blurb

http://hell.pl/szymon/Baen/When the Tide Rises/Warlord/0743435877___1.htm

The entire series has been available on the net for free, but it is not modern or futuristic warfare. It is on a post-apocalypse planet with about American Civil War technology. But an intelligent super-computer is guiding the warlord.

I found it really hilarious how they turned computers into a religion.

Hey psikeyhackr. Thnx mate, I will check it out.
Reminds me a lot of the Safehold series from Weber to tell u the truth and I like that one so I will give it a try.

Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein
Soldier Ask Not By Gordon Dickson
