Just found a nice piece from John Jarrold on writing sf/f at Litopia and thought I'd post it here, not least because this is his official forum - though obviously he's been too busy to post regularly recently:

A couple of good points:

1. He tells you which authors to look to in both fantasy and science fiction, as these are the ones publishers are looking at;

2. There are a number of agencies listed which are specific to sf/f

3. Just a nice short read to keep you up to date on the market. :)

Any JJ information is worth looking through. It was his massively long thread that first brought me here when I was educating myself about writing. I'm sure plenty of us should be buying him a pint some day for the info he gave there.

Aye, the massive JJ thread was one of the things that brought me here too, and he offered some kind feedback after I submitted something to him (even though he declined). He's a top bloke.
