Hi all,
Over ten years ago I was given a book by a friend (because it was one of her favorites and wanted me to read it) and after reading about ten pages, I lost it on a bus. Shortly after that, we lost contact and I've been looking for a copy (and for her) ever since.

Now the clues are few, but hear goes;

It was an omnibus edition, 4 books in one (maybe just 3, but I believe 4).

It was a navy blue paperback with 4 sqaures on the cover (like a window), with pictures in each of the 4 squares.

As for the story, it was fantasy, and the second book (she had told me to read the second book first) began with a young man/boy encountering the/a 'bad guy' (I think the badguy was on a horse, I'm not sure), the baddie invited the boy to "break bread" with him. The boy declined and the baddie went away.
Then the boy met another man, this man told the boy that he was right not to have "broken bread" with the other man, and commented on how he had instinctively known this.

If this rings any bells with anyone, I'd be very happy.

Was that Gospels for Dummies?:rolleyes:
