I haven't seen this colourised version, but I did re-watch the old black and white version last year on the 60th anniversary. I say re-watch, but I could have only have been about 5 on the first viewing. There were several missing episodes (I think) shown with animations, so not sure how they get around that, unless they've found some more since (but that could explain why it is shorter.) Also I agree that Jon Pertwee didn't appear until the "escaping from the hospital scene in a wheelchair" in the following season. I also agree about the "future of dress is jumpsuits" thing "with high collars" and I never understood that even as a child watching things like Logan's Run. When did that idea start? Ming the Merciless had a high collar so maybe it comes from old Comics. Also Fu Manchu.
What I wanted to say was that last night, the social media platform X, was exercised by a totally different complaint. The big problem they see with this is the background music added, and specifically, the playing of the season (six?) Master theme music, each time the Chief War Lord appears, with the insinuation (and retcon) that the Chief War Lord is the Master.
Anyhow, is this something I need to watch (given the changes, additions, missing bits, retconning, and the fact that I recently watched the original already)?
