New Scientist has just published a list of science fiction books due out in 2023: The best science fiction books out in 2023. NS has a subscription barrier, so for those without access the titles are:

The Terraformers by Annalee Newitz
Collision Edited by Rob Appleby and Connie Potter
Hopeland by Ian McDonald
Julia by Sandra Newman
Arch-Conspirator by Veronica Roth
In Ascension by Martin MacInnes
The Lies of the Ajungo by Moses Ose Utomi
Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh
The Landing by Mary Gentle
Womb City by Tlotlo Tsamaase

Are these books they've read in ARC or something pre-release, or are they just anticipating these based on the author or other reviews?

Always happy to have a list of books to look into.

The Terraformers is already on my radar but I haven't heard of the rest of the list yet.

In Ascension sounds excellent to me - though the premise appears to be similar to the 'Boundary' series by Eric Flint.

Macmillan's snippet about The Terraformers reads interestingly and already ideas are forming in my head re what it's all about. :)

Sorry Tachyon; they don't give any details - just looked again.
