I would love to get a real scientific description, but the piece throws terms around I have not heard in physics. Most of these new terms make no sense to me. It seems like they are using 3 different terms to explain the same thing.
Time flipped photon
time-reversal (CPT) symmetry
quantum time flip
"Two independent teams of scientists conducted their experiments side by side and achieved what they describe as a "quantum time flip", in which a photon exists both in forward and backward time states at the same time."
