Nasa dart asteroid deflection test

Maybe it depends on the size of the asteroid, here’s a comparison video which isn’t remotely frightening

And there's this (from a 10/2022 Facebook post of mine):

A heart-stopping simulation has been published showing the first few minutes after the Chixulub asteroid hit the Yucatán peninsula. As well as causing the dinosaurs to become extinct, it triggered a global tsunami that began as a wave more than a mile high. The tsunami scoured the ocean floor thousands of miles from the impact site. Simulation: https://www.youtube.com/embed/aJJOjWX3S1Q (suggest running it at half speed) and news article here: End-Cretaceous asteroid caused massive global tsunami, peaking at a mile high.
