Anyone started this on Netflix. Looking for thoughts. I don't want to start another series, get my hopes up and find out I am wasting my time. It looks good from the trailers.

I decided from reviews this probably wasn't for me, but when I clicked on Netflix for more information, I saw something listed as "similar" called The Invisible City, which has turned out to be brilliant. It's kind of X-Files with Brazilian folklore, and I'd highly recommend it while you wait to decide on this one.

Started it, but couldn't get through the first episode. You can see what they're trying for, with the post-apocalyptic tribes, little technology, everyone back to nature gubbins... but it's just not interesting, or done particularly well. Didn't like any of the characters, either, and it goes heavy on the, "ohhh, but we shouldn't be doing that" vibe that you know is going to be shattered at the end of the first episode.

If you want something with a similar feel, but much better execution, things like Into the Badlands, and even the hilariously so-bad-it's-good first series of The Shannara Chronicles, are worth a look instead - maybe this would be up there if it had also embraced the ham? ItB and TSC are daft and they know it, and they work because of that self-awareness.

I've had a quick skim of reviews, and people are trying to sell it as a German, post-apocalyptic Game of Thrones (it isn't) - apparently it gets dark and pretty violent... but it's a flimsy story, poor action scenes, and CGI that would make the early 90s weep.

I loved Into the Badlands and as an unashamedly fan of Terry Brooks I sort of enjoyed the The Shannara Chronicles. It is in the so bad it's good territory. Went for the Teen vibe, but missed out on his best characters.
