Books on Screenwriting

A friend wants (or thinks I should) get into screenwriting. I know next to zero when it comes to screenwriting. I've gone to Amazon.com to look for e-books on screenwriting and they all look good, but I do know there is such a thing called hype and I can't afford to buy e-books that will mislead me.

I'm assuming there are writers on this forum that can suggest good e-books on this subject.

I will appreciate any suggestions or comments.
