Star Wars itself is just a shameful, third-rate copy of Spaceballs. Chewbacca is clearly a cheap imitation of Barf and Darth Vader not only has his helmet completely out of proportion to his body, he can't even speak his own lines!

Lucas should have tried harder to get the rights to Flash Gordon.That's the movie everyone really wanted.

Given how many of the female cast of Flash Gordon only have one name listed in the credits I doubt they would have needed to change many of the extras.

I agree. I was going to mention Spaceballs, but you thought of it first. I don't think Star Wars is a cheap copy of Spaceballs though. But Spaceballs is a great movie though, easily one of my favorites.

I thought Spaceballs was a bit overrated and not that funny. Love, love, loved Brooks's take on Hitchcock's work in High Anxiety. One of my favourite comedies.
