Do you ever wait for a series to be complete before you read it?

I thought about this when I was responding to another thread.
It is something that I have done, the last series being 'The Dagger and Coin' by Daniel Abraham. Most times it is not practical, since it can be years between books, but occasionally you can get a trilogy that is finished in under 3 years. Currently, I am holding out for the Fitz and the Fool trilogy by Robin Hobb, and the Karkanas books by Steven Erikson. I guess I have enough books in my to-be-read bookcase tht I can afford the luxury of waiting.

It is great when you start a completed series but if one of my favorite authors put something out I just can't wait. Binge reading a series is awesome but if Martin or Abercrombie come up with something new I am there.

I would never read another G.R.R. Martin book again if I had to wait for the series to be done :D . Sorry to say that, I hope He finishes ASoIaF during my lifetime:rolleyes:
