Time and world collapse inward after the Singularity has been achieved

It starts with a Doctor and I think he is trying to achieve Singularity, working on human brains in 4 different boxes. He's close to his brother and there's a female character as well. I read it a long time ago but it was really different, a real adventure but I can't remember the title, the main character name or the author, I think the main character was a Danish Doctor. There was also a terrorist group involved in part of the story.

Struggling with this one and I'm a bit of a fan of Singularity themed books.

The only thing I can offer is, is it one of these on this Goodreads list?
