he;s a terrific actor but shouldn't have been cast in the role of Khan . What they might have done here is cast him as Mayberry rival of Khan who had all escaped from Earth at the same time as Khan ?

He's a good actor, but he's been miscast several times. Khan was one, but its very difficult (impossible?) to replace the original actor in the role. Seeing as it was a different timeline, a cleverer thing may have been to have a different character as the antagonist. Anyway Khan was wasted in a one-act movie. Would have been much better to give him a reason to hate Kirk before the ultimate showdown.
I adore the 1978 Superman film directed by Richard Donner, but find myself gritting my teeth whenever Gene Hackman appears to clown it up as Lex Luthor. Why they never cast Telly Savalas in the role, I'll never understand. Check out the 1969 Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", where he plays Blofeld, to see how the role should have been played.
Speed ? don't get me wrong , I basically like him but, he just looks out place in most action films.
