I seem to have a growing list of 2013 book launches to look forward to. What is everyone else waiting for? My list includes:

Robin Hobb - last Rain Wilds book (waiting for this one so I can read them all together!)
Patrick Rothfuss - The Doors of Stone
Deborah Harkness - the last of her All Souls Trilogy
Elseph Cooper - The Ravens Shadow
Peter V Brett - The Daylight War
And the last of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse books :D

I don't suppose its any use holding my breath for a new George R.R. Martin, but one can only hope!!

The Tolkien book with his poem about the Fall of Arthur -- at last!
David Kynaston's Modernity Britain -- followup to Austerity Britain, which I have read with much interest, and Family Britain, which I must read soon; fine quotidian history
Colin Harrison's Samuel Palmer: The Poetical Landscape

Not sure if these are scheduled for 2013, but they are on my to buy list:
Tyrant's Law by Daniel Abraham
Blood and Bone by Esselmont
Battle by Michelle Sagara West
Emperor of Thorns by Mark Lawrence
The Dark Defiles by Richard Morgan
Blood of Dragons by Robin Hobb

Shadow of Freedom by David Weber, and anything else he is good enough to pump out.
Necessities Child by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, I am totally new to the Liaden universe having just finished a 2 volume collection of short stories and now about to dig into the novels. Sometimes it is good to be late, 16 books to read that I am reasonably certain I will enjoy greatly.
Tiger by the Tail by John Ringo
Portal by Eric Flint and Ryk Spoor
Burdens of the Dead by Eric Flint, Mercedes Lackey and Dave Freer
Flint also has 4or 5 more books coming in the 1632 series but I do not think publishing dates have been set yet although at least one is a completed manuscript.

Patrick Rothfuss The Doors of Stone
Robert Redick The Night of the Swarm
Mark Lawrence Emperor of Thorns

I also can't wait for the new Michael J. Sullivan books, Douglas Hulick's follow up to Among Thieves, a new Scott Lynch and are we getting another Way of Kings book by Sanderson this year?

I will eat an entire hat shop if that happened. Think 2115 – optimistically.

The Dark Defiles by Richard Morgan

The only book I'll definitely be buying for myself. Pre-ordering the hardback.

My wife can't wait for the next Robin Hobb. Meanwhile I'm keeping her busy with all the Megan Lindholm titles.

Coragem.

Not sure if these are scheduled for 2013, but they are on my to buy list:
Tyrant's Law by Daniel Abraham

Tyrant's Law by Daniel Abraham for me as well, though truth be told I was disappointed in The King's Blood (especially after the awesomeness of The Dragon's Path).

As for other 2013 releases, I'm curious about Seven Kings by John R. Fultz. Don't know much else about it other than the blurb, but it looks intriguing.

I seem to have a growing list of 2013 book launches to look forward to. What is everyone else waiting for? My list includes:

Patrick Rothfuss - The Doors of Stone

I don't suppose its any use holding my breath for a new George R.R. Martin, but one can only hope!!

I haven't heard anything about a release date for Doors of Stone yet, and given how delayed Wise Man's Fear was I'm not sure a new Rothfuss book in 2013 is much likelier than a new GRRM book.

Would like to see another Sharpe or Shardlake novel ; anyone kow if anything is in the offing for either of these?

Doors of stone won't be released for another 2.5 years. I'm looking forward to the daylight war, but outside of that I can't say I'm waiting for any particular book at the moment.

Robin Hobb
Raymond Feist ( half looking forward to , only because I have read everyone of his books)
Peter V Brett
Brandson Sanderson ( To conclude the WOT and I think his follow up to Way of kings will be released...that would be my # 1 for the year)

I didnt know that Rothfuss was releasing another one so add that and if Scott Lynch ever gets his 3rd book out I will do a little jig

Now you mention it I'd really like to read the follow-up to Way of Kings.

Sworn in Steel, by Douglas Hulick
Viking: The Norse Warrior's Unofficial Manual, by John Haywood

I am looking forward to the last book in the wheel of time series, and hopefully book 2 of Brandon Sanderson's way of kings series.
