Arrow (as in the Green Arrow from DC)

I must admit that I was on the verge of giving up on this, but it's really picked up in the last few episodes. Felicity is bringing some much needed humour to it - I found it all a bit po-faced without her.

I've been really enjoying it.

According to SFX magazine, the CW is in the process of developing Wonder Woman for television (again). They asked the producers of Arrow on the possibility of a crossover, and were told 'No.' As far as they were concerned there were no powers in their universe and had no intention of changing it at this point.

So that means no Superman, if we have Black Canary she will be powerless etc.

And although Batman would work there are the same problems that stopped him appearing in Smallville - whatever they may be.

Of course it all may change, but at this point 'No powers' seems to be the rule of the day.

It's very much rooted in "reality" and has clearly based itself on The Dark Knight trilogy. However that doesn't mean there won't be tech to make people fly or something like that.

Finally caught up on all the season one episodes I missed and am up to speed on season two. Loving all the DC Easter Eggs, I've been watching with my ipad on my lap so I can google all the references. :D

I read that they are going to introduce a the Flash origin story; the character is supposed to appear in a few episodes as they test for a Flash series.

I've enjoyed Arrow and have stuck with it (a little for the eye candy - ahem). I have no comic-reference to go on so am just taking the show as it comes.

Contrary to a comment above, I thought the fight scenes are some of the best on TV at the moment.
Overall, less wishy-washy than most 'hero' tv series with a nice bit of grit ;)

Arrow is one of few current american shows i follow these days and season 2 is the good superhero series i hoped the weaker first half of season 1 was. Im enjoying the growth of Ollie both as Arrow and his civilian self. The island flashback is getting darker, more complex. Better villains like Ivo, Blood. Felicity, Ollie, Diggle is a good team that enchance the series. Hope season 2 keeps being this good.

Just watched the pilot on Amazon Prime and really enjoyed it.

I felt like I was watching an alternative Batman figure - but one who was far more interesting. This is dark and brooding - a little too stock in places - but a ton of character tensions and a slow plot reveal that I'm really enjoying, and I don't recall from similar figures.

Loving the way we saw increasing reveals of the island, not least a dramatic climax with the father.

"The Brave and the Bold"
Excellent showing of Captain Boomerang's ability. Barry using the salmon ladder at super speed was kind of funny. Interesting seeing Amanda Waller pushing Ollie down a darker path. About time Ollie got a costume upgrade.

Plus another another rack for Flash at the end of the row. The only thing I wasn't happy about was the fight at Argus, but rest of the episode was absolutely superb.

Agreed, great episode. Loved the whole Flash/Arrow crossover. The bit where
Barry goes out for sushi and then completely blows his secret identity with Lila
was hilarious. :)

"The Climb"
Interesting seeing Maseo alive in the present and a member of the League of Assassins. Glad to see Alex Kingston return. Thea was kind of badass. I liked how the mind control drug Votura tied into both the flashbacks and the present. Loved seeing China White and Katana sword fight. Nice to see more of Ray Palmer's ATOM Suit. Enjoyed watching Ollie get his ass handed to him by Ra's. What an insane cliffhanger!

Episode 10 "Left Behind"
Awesome seeing Roy step up and Diggle wearing the green again. Vinnie Jones as Brick, hell yeah! Nice to see Ray Palmer using some Atom tech. The flash backs were pretty good especially Ollie and Maseo's mission. John Barrowman was great in this episode. I wasn't expecting Laurel to suit up so soon but I thought she looked pretty good. I had a feeling it was going to be Maseo that saved Ollie and I'm glad to see Tatsu in the present as well.
