I read this book once when i was in school. It involved two scocieties. One was the governing military society and the other was like a native american rebel society. they were in a constant state of conflict. The governing society ventures into the landscape in train like vehicles that catapault small planes into the air as part of their defense. The plot's main character is a young pilot who is shot down by the rebels and captured. He is allowed to learn to live as one of them and soon realizes his own humanity.
