Unlike most people in this site I do actually love Terry Goodkind and his work. Richard is a fantastic character to follow, and it is a very enjoyable read, if although, it does drag late into the series. I also really enjoy Jim Butcher and his novels. Anything that will be similar to these two authors works, such the books being in a series, and following a main hero the whole time.

Corwin recommends The Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny. 10 novels should keep you busy, although all ten are about the same volume as one of Goodkind's oven-stuffers. You can get it in one volume....

javi,
Here are a couple of suggestions.

Jennifer Fallon Second Sons trilogy book one is The Lion of Senet.
David Coe Winds of the Forelands series book one is The Rules of Ascension.
Fiona McIntosh Quickening series book one is Myrren's Gift.
Brent Weeks Night Angel trilogy book one is The Way of Shadows.
John Marco Tyrants and Kings series book one is The Jackel of Nar.

Good luck! :)

I liked them both and love Jim Butcher in particular

If you are looking for urban then Charlaine Harris - Southern Vampire Series or Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series. Just read Poison Study by Maria M Snyder and enjoyed that

Try Magician from Raymond E Feist if you haven't already read it

Another good urban fantasy series I would recommend if you liked Butcher's Dresden books are the Felix Castor novels by Mike Carey. Darker, but excellent. 5 books in the series so far.
