Mevil plot ideas?

I want to write a medievil story but haven't thought of a good enought plot.
(Why the nations are at war)
The story is going to have quite a few twists so I need a good plot to base the story on.
Any suggestions?

Medieval plot ideas?

Um, I'd suggest you start with...
Middle Ages - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then wander around pages and images on tech, food, clothing, weapons, trading patterns, socio-political divides etc etc, drilling down at random until you find a McGuffin to drive the plot.

There's a lot going on, serious upheaval, bruised regal egos, vaunting ambitions...

And around it, the ordinary people try to get on with their lives...

Would a side-show to some great event suffice ?? Can you fill in a foot-note to history ? Will you ride in a famous figure's personal guard ? Do you live in a town on a route that sees armies march by every Spring ?? Do you supply a Castle that is traded between Princes and Kings as diplomacy and exigency demands ?? Is your father a Victualler, Riverman, Cobbler, Baker or Farrier ??
