I was thinking how much HP and LOTR (with the inclusion of The Hobbit) Are so simmilar. here is what I came up with:

Harry Potter -- LOTR(IH)
Snape despises Harry's presence -- Strider/Arogorn holds Frodo in high respect and cares for him.

Frodo is pursued because of what he possesses, while Harry is pursued by Voldemort because of who he is.

Difference:

Frodo loves his Uncle Bilbo, visa versa, and was treated quite well by him. His uncle Bilbo has great respect for magic and a love for a certain wizard.


Harry can't stand his uncle, and visa versa. His Uncle has never ventured to know magic, and he hates wizardry.
