2.03 : School Hard

Buffy has enough to worry about on parent-teacher night, without the interference of the new vampire in town, two-time slayer killer Spike.

i like this ep -

Buffy covers for the 'other' bad element in the school - dunno whether this is so she (Buffy) doesn't get into trouble, or b/c she doesn't want the other girl in more trouble, i don't know --

then, of course - there's the intro of Spike and Dru --- and they are just too much fun!

egads, spike and dru were just so _perfect_ in this ep.

And the end with the Anointed one was just great.

def a classic :cool:

The intro of Spike and Dru, Spike and Angel's relationship revealed, and Spike vs Buffy round 1 - the winner, Joyce :D

Signalled that this season was going to be quite different from the prev one, in terms of tone, none of the masters mystical power here, just sheer force and a smart tongue ;)

oh yeah -- still really liking the season 2 bit -- season 1 was good - but a bit too campy for me --

season 2 - just rearing to go --

(and i'm impatiently waiting for my season 2 DVDs - they don't even release until June :()

you do know i have to hurt you now, right?

and YES - i do need a multi-region DVD player -- would you like to buy me one? <looks around> guess not -- so, i'm stuck w/ my region 1 DVD player and waiting -- which sucks - but anyway --

so - what else about "School Hard"?

oh - yes - the infamous line by Spike: "You were my sire!" (or is is 'you were my sire, man' - something like that)

which - to this day still sparks debates and discussion ---

"you were my sire, man. My yoda"...

(vamps to find some time to go to the movies inbetween their killing sprees then;))

I guess it could be interpreted that Spike saw Angel as his teacher as he trained him after Dru turned him, as she wouldn't have been much of a teacher unless he wanted to learn how to be nuts...

ooh - is that a Joss Whedon thing, or is that your interpretation?

that's probably the best one i've heard to 'explain' -->

spoiler for "Fool For Love"

why in FFL Dru sires Spike, but he had called Angel his sire way back in School Hard

well done, mark!
