Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as a CIA operative on the verge of retirement, when his boss sends him on one last mission. He is to retrieve another op whose cover will soon be compromised when another bad guy arrives. Adding to the situation, is that he knows the boss villain, and the boss thinks he is his friend, but --

So, his marriage had fallen apart, years ago, and he had hoped to use his retirement to rekindle his relationship with his ex-wife, who is already about to marry some other guy. an abundance of conflicts between members of his own team, & family.

Drama with a dash of humor. 8 episodes in s1. Am unsure if there will be a S2.

Yeah, the humor didn't work for me but at least it's got some action. Season 2? I'd be surprised.

I'm only up to episode 3 but I'm guessing that the wife is also CIA. If not in this Season then definitely by the end of the next! Or else Donatella is FSB.

However, I'm finding their inability to take down Boro just makes them look inept.

the humor didn't work for me but at least it's got some action.

There are a lot of jokes, but it's in the "Seth MacFarlane model" where you pile them up, good or (mostly) bad. It doesn't seem to bother them that most don't work as long as that single joke does.

Action - yes, I've realised that it feels like a long time since I've watched TV drama with so much action. Spy fiction TV used to be a staple of Saturday night TV in the UK in the 1960's and 1970's before it became the realm of Reality TV Shows. And US comedy spy fiction TV was also really popular in the late 1960's.

I've watched it all now. I thought it tailed off in quality towards the later episodes, and building a nuclear bunker out of rocks that will catch fire broke the fourth wall for me. Pity the wife isn't CIA either.

There were a lot of clever jokes, that weren't funny but I admired their inventiveness - Arnie's new catchphrase; "He was feeling a little run down" about the guy with tyre tracks on his back - lot's of subtle references to other films, some of Arnie's but other classics too. I liked the soundtrack.

I guess I would also recommend it, but only because everything else is so very poor at the moment.

It's a possible pension plan for Arnie, but there was only one story - that his daughter was also an agent and he didn't know - okay, two stories - that they had to work togethers and didn't get along - but now they've done those, where else do you go with this?

So now you have a dysfunctional family and team of agents on the run from "everyone who ever held a grievance." Hard to give them all witness protection together. They aren't funny enough to carry it off anyhow.

Short answer, no.

The thing with new identities, is that when 2 are seen together, the resemblances are just a wee bit stronger, than just one guy who resembles some other guy. Batman & Robin, Bruce & Dick, one might wonder if Clark Kent has a resemblance to Superman, but both B & D could be B & R? Hmmm. Much less the resemblances of an entire family/group to an entire family / group. They must separate! So sad!

I like the fact that he'd doing tlevsion . No matter what he's in, he fun to watch. Acting wise, he's actually good.
