So they are finally back with a new season. I didn't even realize how much I missed them until I watched the first episode. I had a few *huh* moments waching it.

First of all, I don't know about you, but Agents of the S.H.I.E.L.D without Coulson, has no point to continue. So my first reaction when I saw him in this episode was: huh, he is back and alive, probably after another kinda of Hawaii rescue mission. I didn't expect him back as an android while having all memories of the real Coulson, including his death and death's wishes. (well, the info was uploaded in the android, so this can be defended)

2nd. Enough looks like a very smart Chronicom. Those who were sent back in time, look more like stupid robots.

3rd. Melinda is alive, but sick, so I'm happy she is still around. It should be interesting how she will react seeing the new Coulson.

4th. Jemma acts like a very old soul, desperate to save everyone. I thought her and Fitz were made Chronicoms in the last season. I suppose I will have to watch the last episode again to refresh my memories, unless somebody else already knows the answer.

5th. Save Hydra ? Huh ! I was happy when they finally kill it. I suppose we will have a background history this season.

Enough spoilers for today. You will have to watch it if you wanna know what's going on.

Here you have a sneak peek in this episode:

Then you will have fun watching the other seasons. In this first episode the agents go back in time in New York, 1931. However, if you didn't have the chance to watch S3, S5 and S6, it may be difficult to understand what's going on. S3 is my favorite so far.

hi,
I started last week, it seems interestiung. Although confusing. The agents have to try and stop the enemy from wiping out the facts that they are existing. They have to stop the enemy from wiping out their time line. If one thing is removed all is lost. They have to be able to do this. They should try and a void detection in the timeline they are in.
When the manager of the bar goes into the spaceship that shield owes. He is a amazed upon seeing this. You have to be able to keep the tone of story alive. They have done this very well.

I had to watch this episode again to understand what was going on. The *enemy* you are talking about are Chronicoms erasers. They have to infiltrate among the others. But thy got got before they had the time to clean up after themselves.

I loved the end when Enoch has no choice but to stay in 1931 and work as bartender. And a good one ! :D

Did they announce the date ?

Not yet. However, UK tv schedules are normally only fixed two weeks in advance. At the moment, E4, who broadcast Shield in the UK, only shows their schedule to a week on Friday. The other thing is that for the last couple of years, E4 has broadcast Shield on a Sunday night at 9pm. That slot is currently occupied by Batwoman. My guess (and I could be wrong) is that they'll wait for Batwoman to finish its run and then put Shield on in the 9pm slot.

The thing is that by my reckoning everything on E4 is now repeats except for: Batwoman, Supernatural, a soap called Hollyoaks, and Celebrity Gogglebox USA. Batwoman finishes in 9 weeks, Supernatural finishes in 11 weeks. I'm not sure how many more episodes of Hollyoaks they have, but I've seen newspaper reports that they can run until the end of July. Celeb Gogglebox USA has another 6 weeks of shows.

Depending on how long the virus locks down the tv industry E4 could end up at 100% repeats by the end of August or so. If they delay Shield to the end of Batwoman then they buy themselves another 9 weeks in which to resolve the virus and re-open filming. At the very least delaying Shield would mean that E4 will have one original show to broadcast in September. I would note, in passing, that Sky 1 has had some adverts on for season 4 of MacGyver recently, and it even appeared in my tv planner. It's now disappeared from my planner and the tv schedule. So Sky has postponed the start of season 4 of MacGyver, presumably for similar reasons.

Hopefully, I'm wrong. If I am then the earliest we'll see Shield on E4 is a week on Sunday. Not holding my breath on that one.

At least one season of Shield was broadcast September/October time in the UK. (I recall watching an episode in the Hilton in central Bristol one Friday evening, the day before that year's Bristolcon was held there.)

Season 1 was broadcast in September 2013, but partly that's because it started in the US in September 2013, and it was broadcast in the UK about 3 days behind the US. Season 2 started in October 2014, pretty much a month behind the US, and since then the gaps between the US air dates and the UK air dates have varied. Seasons 3 and 4 started in September in the US and January the following year in the UK. Season 5 was 3 months behind (December in the US and March the following year in the UK). However, season 6 was two weeks behind the US and started in May in both countries.

Consistency is not really the channel's hallmark.

I expect it was either in 2013 or 2014 (Bristolcon usually being held towards the end of October).

I understand your frustation. It was difficult for me to follow up Merlin series in Canada long after it was over in UK.

I've given in and subscribed to Disney+, it's the only way I'm going to see the final season of Walking Dead. The upside is I'm getting to see the final season of Agents of Shield.
