A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

It was really, really good.

16 year old Gemma lives in India with her mother until a terrible tragedy, that she sees from afar in a vision, happens and she is sent to a boarding school. She has trouble fitting in with the other girls because of her background, and she has the added stress of having more visions. She finally starts to fit in with the other girls, learns to control her visions, and even finds she can enter the realm. Gradually, she learns more and more about the magical realm and her connection to it.

I definitely recommend it.

I have that one on my shelf, but haven't gotten to it yet- I've heard loads of good things about it, though! Did you know there is a sequel- it's called Rebel Angels. I think it's going to be a trilogy (of course- as though fantasy could be written without three books!)
