Yes, I agree that it should be someone from another family who turns to the dark side this time, but if as you say Lucas has to make "everyone and everything" related, it will likely be either Luke or one of Leia's children most likely.
 
Well, Lucas is not involved, and Disney quite specifically choose not to look at his story treatnents for the sequels, so his tendencies should have no bearing.
 
When I say everyone and everything, I mean it in a wider sense, too.

For example, Jango Fett being the clone template and his 'son' being Boba, the design of the clone trooper helmet coming from his, stylistically. I'm okay with Jabba being in the prequels as they were on Tatooine anyway, but there's so much convenience (Chewbacca, Greedo, and all those other 'easter eggs' ). It's imbalanced because if the universe were that small or coincidental, we'd see more of the Neimodians, Banking Clan, and Geonosians in the OT.

Anyway, let's hope for some surprises :)

Let's just hope it it lives up to expectations, I'm starting to hate the way trailers are making out films to be much better than they actually are...

But this does bring back so many good memories!
 
I saw this last night. So good to see Han and Chewie together after so long.
 
The 2nd trailer just restored my faith In J J Abrams and the Star Wars franchise. It looks amazing ! (y)

I think that in this case, the film will more then live up to the trailer . It will be the biggest hit of the year, easily. :)(y)
 
I said it about Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises and both times I was proved right: I believe in J J Abrams (and Christopher Nolan...)
 
I think it's safe to be excited now that The Force Awakens won't be terrible!
So excited for it!! Star Wars is back!! :)
 
This is shaping up to be a really great movie season. (y)
 
Though I've enjoyed watching the two teaser trailers, I'm not sure whether I want to see any full trailers - I'd like the story to remain as much of a surprise as possible. But it would be so tempting to watch...
