There's a basic script running on the forums, that prevents new users from posting links.

It's unfortunate that we had to implement this, but felt compelled to, so as to help combat forum spammers looking to abuse the forums with link advertising.

HOWEVER, it's come to my attention that people have been receiving error messages when they are not posting a link.

Upon investigation, it appears that including a smilie face creates a link to the smilie graphic - and the script sees that as a link and therefore prohibits posting.

So if you receive a message stating that you cannot post a link until you've reached 15 posts, please avoid using smilie faces until I can get this corrected. :)

Also, remember that posts are currently only counted for post count totals when posted on the science fiction and fantasy boards.

Any questions, feel free to ask.
