Oh, I'm sure about it... I hope it isn't a desperate attempt to keep hold of some past glory, and the series goes into a nose-dive with second-rate actors trying to keep it going...

call me a stargate purist, but I liked it better when there were only TWO gates and ONE bad guy.

it nose dived at series 6 - as soon as they had the 'promeathious', they lost there edge, it didn't feel real anymore.
And that imho was on of the things that made it special.
